CHAT GPT PLUS: OpenAI's artificial intelligence offers a paid plan
After the great success of OpenAI with the free Chat GPT service, they now announce the arrival of the Plus version, more powerful and initially available to a select group of members.
Yes, the new and improved version of Chat GPT is here, but it won’t be immediately available to everyone. It will initially be directed at the American audience, who will need to enter their details into a waitlist. OpenAI assures that waitlist subscribers will gradually be invited to use the service over the next few weeks, with plans to extend the offering to other countries as soon as possible.
But what is Chat GPT Plus and why should I use the service?
Chat GPT Plus is, as the name suggests, the enhanced version of the free Chat GPT service. By launching the free service globally, OpenAI had the opportunity to refine what would become the current paid offering, implementing more advanced features, addressing some issues, and improving the service based on users’ most frequent requests: it was a test launch.
With the enhanced version of Chat GPT Plus, OpenAI can offer users:
- the ability to have a service available even during peak hours;
- priority access to all new (yet unspecified) features and those to be implemented in the future;
- faster response times.
All of this comes at a cost, or investment, of $20 per month.
Don’t worry, though: the free Chat GPT service will still be available.
What can we use Chat GPT Plus for?
As you may have already understood, Chat GPT Plus is simply the more advanced version of Chat GPT, and like the latter, it is an artificial intelligence service designed to process texts with formulations and expressions typical of humans. It can be helpful for text generation and understanding, commanding media through virtual assistants, conceptual suggestion during writing, chatbot usage, content summarization, translation, and much more.
However, it also has some limitations, such as difficulty contextualizing, making inferences, creating entirely original content (as it is based on existing content), limited understanding of some languages, or a reduced ability to handle “sensitive” topics.
Perhaps Chat GPT Plus has not yet reached a perfect and limitless artificial intelligence service, but this is definitely the path to take if that is the goal.
Could this be OpenAI’s first step in maintaining its leadership at a time when Google announces “BART”, their own artificial intelligence service? We’ll find out soon.
